Maesar Fire Substation to Move Forward

A project that could save residents money while increasing public safety is moving forward. According to Uintah County Commissioner Bill Stringer, the Maesar fire substation project can proceed now that funding has been arranged.

Duchesne County Weighs in on Yellowstone Feeder Canal Repair Project

The Duchesne County Commission is weighing in on the Yellowstone Feeder Canal repair project proposed by the Moon Lake Water Users Association. In a letter signed on Monday and addressing the Bureau of Reclamation office in Provo, the Commissioners state their support of “lining segments of the deteriorated concrete canal (and an earthen embankment section) with a geomembrane liner, covered with at least three inches of shotcrete or concrete.”

Every fall, county Boards of Equalization meet to hear appeals on assessed property values that were mailed out to property owners in July. In Uintah County this fall, 103 of those appeals received an adjustment to their property value for a combined net reduction in value of about $9 million dollars.

Rollover Accident on Highway 191 at Windy Point

A truck and camper both rolled in an accident on Highway 191 in Uintah County on Monday morning. According to Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Rex Olsen, an 89-year-old Orem man was driving a 1996 Ford F-250 pulling a camper while traveling south.
