Tragic Shooting a Fake

A violent and tragic news story circulating on the internet Wednesday caught many locals by surprise. Thankfully, it turned out to be a fake. The news source, touting itself as “Breaking Daily News”, claimed that a domestic dispute in Vernal left a woman dead, her three children wounded and a boyfriend arrested. Those that clicked on it or around the site for more information were redirected to spam including adult themed websites. “This is one of the biggest problems on the internet,” shares Techris Design owner and technology expert Ted Munford.

Primary Election Day

Today is the last chance to cast a vote in the primary election. According to Uintah County Clerk Auditor Mike Wilkins, as ofMonday morning, 3,790 ballots had been cast in Uintah County by mail so far which is a great sign of voter turnout considering the 2014 primary totaled 4,319 votes. This is the first complete vote by mail election for Uintah County and Wilkins is hopeful the total voter turnout will exceed past primary elections.
