It’s time again for a unique annual favorite night out for many local families and this year brings a special treat. Lori Olmstead, the founder of the VernalUTAH Storytelling Festival, will be traveling from her home in Tennessee to serve as one of the event’s performers during the annual event being held this week. Olmstead was living in Vernal when she and a group of dedicated volunteers launched the festival in 2003 with the goal of bringing world-renowned talent to the Uintah Basin. As one of the performers, Lori Olmstead will be joined during this year’s festival by storytellers Bil Lepp and Elizabeth Ellis. “I’m thrilled to be a part of this festival,” shares Olmstead, who also expressed her thanks to the many volunteers and friends that have kept the festival alive. This year’s event is being held this Thursday and
Friday, March 21st
and 22nd. Assemblies will be held for local students during the day followed by community performances each evening. Visit
