101 Chihuahuas Rescued from Home Evacuated During Dollar Ridge Fire; Experienced Pet Foster Homes Needed

While many animals were affected and some had to be left behind as fire quickly spread near Fruitland in early July, there is one home where over a hundred dogs were left. According to Melisa Stevenson from Furever Buddy’s Dog Rescue, 101 chihuahuas were rescued from a hoarding situation near Fruitland during the Dollar Ridge Fire evacuation. “During this rescue, we found several moms with newborn puppies, pregnant females, as well as injured dogs,” shares Stevenson. “Their living conditions were horrible and yes they all lived in the same tiny house.” The dogs, many of whom have probably never been held, will need some help before being adopted and experienced pet foster homes are needed to help with socializing, leash training, and other basic skills. Donations of puppy food, collars, leashes, and dog beds are needed. Monetary donations are also greatly appreciated to help with the medical costs for the injured pups.
