Lengthy Pursuit Ends in Arrest in Uintah County
An early morning pursuit ended in arrest during the early morning hours in Uintah County. According to Uintah County Sheriff’s Office, the pursuit began after a BIA officer attempted to stop a passenger car for speeding at approximately 2:45am on 6500 East in Fort Duchesne.

Donations Still Welcome in Effort to Brighten Christmas for Local Elderly
The response to a drive to gather gifts for local elderly has been good with today as the last main day to contribute. While donations will be accepted and appreciated next week, the organizers of the effort are hoping to begin organizing donations today so they are ready for delivery next week.
U.S. Oil Sands Announces Deferment of PR Spring Project
Canadian based company U.S. Oil Sands announced this month that plans for the PR Spring project will be deferred until a $7.5 million dollar financing is complete. Mechanical construction of PR Spring is complete but “as a result of liquidity constraints,” the Company has elected to “lay-up the facility pending the closing of Financing.”
Raymond Wrapping Up Time as County Commissioner
Commissioner Mark Raymond is finishing up 2016 the same way he has spent the last 8 years; serving the people of Uintah County. “One thing I have learned during this time is that we have really good people here in Uintah County and I’ve really enjoyed working with them,” shares Raymond.

Like most agencies, Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office is almost always in the process of hiring and training new cadets for their team. Sheriff Dave Boren was among many in attendance at the Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) ceremony in Sandy on Thursday, honoring new graduates from the program.
