Vernal City Budget Reopener

The first of two budget reopeners for Vernal City was held during Wednesday’s city council meeting. City Manager Ken Bassett explained that the first reopener comes at this time of the fiscal year so that the city knows exactly where it sits in revenues and expenditures in order to make any adjustments before the end of the fiscal year.

Main Jr. Makes Initial Appearance in 8th District Court

James Hudson Main, Jr. made his first appearance in 8th District Court this week on charges tied to a string of crimes committed last October. Main Jr. faces a long list of charges in Utah and Colorado after a two day crime spree that included kidnapping, assault, and the alleged aggravated murder of his own father.

Governor Herbert on Passing of John Glenn

Governor Herbert is urging Utahns to remember American hero John Glenn who recently passed away. On the heels of President Trump’s proclamation, Governor Herbert ordered the lowering of flags in Utah for the interment of former U.S. Senator John Glenn, calling Glenn an American hero in every sense.
