A man is behind bars after brandishing a gun during a bar fight in Uintah County over the weekend. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, officers were dispatched to the Gateway Bar during the early morning hours of January 26th on a report that a man wearing a yellow sweater had pulled out a gun during an altercation in the parking lot. Officers located the man in the area and he admitted that he had pulled out a handgun to intimidate the person he was having a verbal altercation with. Officers located a .22 revolver in the front pocket of his sweater with the hammer back in firing position and cylinder fully loaded. 22-year-old Quentin Neilsen was arrested and transported to the Uintah County Jail. Bar security told the officers that Neilsen and his group were kicked out of the bar because Quentin got into a verbal argument in the main lobby of the bar. Multiple encounters were reported to officers, one of which was that a man in a yellow sweater approached and told an individual he should not be flashing his cash the way he was. Then the man in the yellow sweater opened a fanny pack, that was strapped to his chest like a sash, to reveal a revolver in the fanny pack’s main compartment. Quentin Neilsen is charged with 2nd Degree Felony Carrying a Concealed Short Barreled Shotgun or Rifle, 3rd Degree Felony Aggravated Assault, and Misdemeanor charges of Use of a Dangerous Weapon in a Fight, Carrying a Weapon while Under the Influence, and Possession of a Controlled Substance and Paraphernalia.
