One family’s Christmas tradition has warmed more than just hearts over the years. This is the 10th year for ‘Carol’s Glove Tree’ on Brush Creek Road in the Jensen area. “When we first started talking about it, we thought we might put a wire out by the road to hang gloves on,” explains Carol’s husband Asa Evans. “We decided though to put up a Christmas tree instead and hang the gloves in little bags with candy and a little toy. It has grown over the years and we start buying gloves in February when they go on sale.” The couple gives away about 300 pair of gloves each year to children, teens and adults. The most they’ve gone through in a year was 600 pair. The tree is set on the road near their home providing the Evans with a great view of the excited visitors during the Christmas season each year. “It’s so fun to watch little kids get out of the car, just in awe of the tree,” shares Evans, who emphasized that this is just a way for them to share their love with others during the holidays. All are welcome to come get their gloves from the tree on Brush Creek Road in Jensen. If the sight of the tree isn’t sign enough for you, look for the sign that reads: “From our hearts to your hands. May your Holidays be filled with warmth. Please take a pair [and] Merry Christmas.”
