Burglaries Span Region

More details are available on area burglaries since the arrest of Tracey Soules and Monty Ellis. According to the Uintah County Sheriff’s Department, the spike in burglaries took place over the last two weeks and covered homes in Ballard, Lapoint and areas around Vernal in just Uintah County but areas throughout the region have been hit. Additional subjects have also been identified as being involved though no new names have been released. 40-year-old Tracey Soules has been charged with Felony Burglary, Theft, and Unlawful Acquisition of a Card. The probable cause statement outlines the investigation that identified Soules as using stolen credit cards in Roosevelt and Fort Duchesne, in possession of stolen jewelry and property, and driving the truck and car identified as the suspect’s vehicles. 30-year-old Monty Ellis has been charged with Felony Theft by Receiving Stolen Property. The pair are being extradited to Utah and the Sheriff’s Office indicated that multiple investigations are going on in multiple jurisdictions. Citizens are being urged to lock their doors and report any suspicious activity in their neighborhood.
