A special dedication ceremony was held last week at the Constitution Park baseball complex in memory of a man known for his commitment to the Roosevelt community. Linden “Mutt” Dye recently passed away following a short battle with cancer. He is missed by many, including those he worked with as the Parks and Recreation Director for 36 years. Of the many projects he was instrumental in, a few include the playground equipment at Constitution Park and Central Park, the outdoor volleyball pit, outdoor basketball facility with lights, and the Parks and Rec Department shop. He was also involved with the skate park, soccer fields, and bringing in the Jr. Jazz youth basketball program. The new sign at the baseball complex states: Linden “Mutt” Dye Complex at Constitution Park. In recognition and appreciation for his commitment to the Parks and Recreation of Roosevelt City. He worked and cared for the parks of the City tirelessly for 36 years. “Mutt’s” legacy lives on through each of the parks in which he immaculately cared for.
