Biggest Single Day Increase of COVID-19 Cases in TriCounty Health District
Thursday saw the biggest single day jump of COVID-19 cases reported in the TriCounty Health District. The Thursday COVID-19 Situational Update on www.tricountyhealth.com shows that the total of confirmed cases for the entire TriCounty Health District went from 52 on Wednesday to 62 on Thursday.
Executive Summary of Uintah School District Draft Reopening Plan Now Available
The Uintah School District has provided their Draft Reopening Plan Executive Summary for the public to review and offer their feedback on. In a Thursday press release, the District shared that the plan was developed by a COVID-19 Task Force made of numerous staff and community members.
Dollar Ridge Fire Emergency Watershed Protection Project Underway
Duchesne County Fire Marshal Mike Lefler issued a news release on Wednesday announcing that construction is underway on the Dollar Ridge Fire Emergency Watershed Protection Project. The project is taking place in the Strawberry River and Timber Canyon areas to repair damage caused by the Dollar Ridge Fire and the flash floods that followed.

Uintah School District Shares Draft of School Reopening Plan; Invites Public Input
The Uintah School Board met Wednesday night in a public meeting where the community got its first glimpse of the proposed school reopening plans. The Board had received the full copy of the plan just 24 hours before the meeting and many in the public attended to see for themselves the proposed plan and offer their input in person.
New Commissioner of Higher Education Board has Basin Ties
After serving as interim commissioner of higher education for the last year, Dave Woolstenhulme was appointed to the position full time. The newly appointed 18-member Utah Board of Higher Education approved the appointment during its inaugural meeting on July 1st.
