November 1st is Extra Mile Day and Roosevelt City wants to honor these wonderful individuals. Uintah High School Senior Earns Perfect Score on ACT
Uintah School District took the time to brag about an exceptional student on Friday in their District update. Among many accomplishments, Uintah High Senior Eoin O’Hearn earned a perfect score on the ACT test. “Eoin took the standardized college admissions test in June, earning a score of 36,” shared Uintah School District.

Help For Youth Struggling With Mental Health Issues During COVID-19
COVID-19 has been trying on many levels to so many people. The Uintah Basin community is a witness to the strain this disease has been for those that already struggle with mental health issues, especially our youth. Be sure to remind any youth that they are not alone.
Vernal Rotary Club Annual Winter Coat Drive Underway
Cool weather will soon be upon us and with it the need for some warm coats. The Rotary Club in Vernal has its annual Winter Coat Drive underway to help those in the community. The Rotary Club works to collect new or gently used coats, gloves, and scarves for all sizes both kids and adults until October 21st.
Stolen Vehicles Recovered, Reports Vernal PD
The Vernal City Police Department asked the public to keep an eye out last Thursday after 3 vehicles were stolen from a local business. While two of the vehicles had been recovered the third, a black 2013 Chevy Silverado, had yet to be located. Eventually the Silverado was also located and Vernal PD thanked the community for the assistance.
Gobbler 5K Race Announces Recipients
Organizers of the Gobbler Thanksgiving 5K have announced the recipients of this year’s race. Tracy Webster was diagnosed with incurable Stage 4 stomach cancer in March. Tracy has his beautiful wife Alicia of 21 years. They have three children, Karsen (19), Reagan (18) and Bransen (15).
‘Fight Another Round’ Benefit for Stephanie Robb
2020 has been a doozy of a year for the average family so it is hard to imagine the stress and hardship of those dealing with additional illness and hardship. Recognizing that this is the case, the community is rallying around Stephanie Robb Larkin as she prepares to fight another round of “the big C”.
Vernal Man in Jail on Investigation into DUI and Assaulting Officers
A Vernal man is in jail and being held without bail on multiple felony and misdemeanor offenses following an incident on SR 121 west of Vernal early Saturday morning. At approximately 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2020, a Uintah County Sheriff Deputy observed a vehicle that appeared to have run off the roadway.
Fatal Four Wheeler Crash on Seep Ridge Road in Uintah County
A fatal ATV crash remains under investigation in Uintah County. The Uintah County Sheriff’s Office shared Sunday night that a 52-year-old Taylorsville man died after the four wheeler he was operating crashed in southern Uintah County on October 2nd.
