The Hotel Vernal Haunt succeeded in scaring up money for local charities even while following social distance and safety recommendations. The Hotel Vernal Haunt announced on Monday the donation of $30,000 to three local charities from the 2020 season proceeds.
Ashley National Forest Paradise Campground 2020 Restoration
Ashley National Forest has reported on restoration work on Paradise Campground during the fall. “The campground is located within the Vernal Ranger District next to Paradise Reservoir and the historic Paradise Guard Station. This inter-departmental project was made possible with the help of the engineering and heritage programs.
Future Project to Relocate Access Road to Moonshine Arch
The Utah Transportation Commission recently approved a project that will relocate the access road to Moonshine Arch. The current unpaved road to the arch meets with U.S. 191 in a very dangerous spot, as it is at a curve with a high angle and limited views. Utah Department of Transportation plans that the new junction will be at a site with clear views from all directions, have room for a left-turn lane, will add signs and will widen the shoulder to allow for a safer right turn.

Uintah High Adjusts Attendance Options In Hopes of Reducing COVID-19 Cases
With cases still rising in the TriCounty Health District all are asked to be diligent in efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Uintah School District has asked the community to please help keep schools open for in-person attendance. If your student feels sick, is waiting for the results of a COVID-19 test or has been told to quarantine due to exposure to a positive case, please have your student stay home.
