‘Vernal Parents For Education’ Want Uintah Schools Switched to Semester Block

Change can be hard but a group of local parents believe the challenge of change would be worth it in the form of student benefits if Uintah School District changed from a Trimester schedule to a Semester Block schedule. The group created a website called www.VernalParentsForEducation.com and a Vernal Parents For Education Facebook group where they have shared their reasons for the proposed changes.

COVID-19 Vaccine Opened Up to 50 and Older

The COVID-19 vaccine has been opened up to more Utahns. During the state’s COVID-19 Thursday press conference it was announced that vaccinations are now being opened to anyone 50 and over in Utah. Governor Spencer Cox said appointments could be made starting March 8th but TriCounty Health has already opened the 50 and older for scheduling on their website.

Uintah Basin Youth Chamber Orchestra Resumes and Welcomes Artistic Directors

The excitement could be felt Thursday evening in the Vernal City Community Room as the youth and leaders of the Uintah Basin Youth Chamber Orchestra reunited after a long break. The group started their season last August hopeful they could proceed normally but were quickly required to stop meeting due to the rise in COVID-19 cases in the area.
