Ashley Regional Medical Center announced in a press release Monday that physical therapist Justin Watkins has been recognized as their 2021 Mercy Award Winner. The award is considered the highest honor a LifePoint employee can receive and Justin Watkins was a worthy choice.

Magnesium Chloride Treatment Planned for Taylor Mountain Road
Ashley National Forest announced Monday that Taylor Mountain Road (Forest Service Road 044) is being treated with magnesium chloride this week to improve it for the coming season. The road will be graded and prepared Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday the application of the Magnesium Chloride will happen and Thursday and Friday the application will be left to absorb and dry.
Summer Splash Event Aims to ‘Help Community Find Connection’
Summer is peeking around the corner and summer time plans are in the works. In that spirit the Duchesne County 4-H Teen Council and the Tri-County Health Youth Group will be hosting a free family fun event at the Roosevelt Aquatic Center.
UDOT Starvation Bridge Project Update
UDOT issued an update on April 23rd regarding the Starvation Bridge project: Crews are carefully working to remove the side walls across the bridge using an innovative technique to preserve the existing rebar on the south side of the bridge.
USU Uintah Basin Celebrates the Class of 2021
Utah State University Uintah Basin enjoyed a fantastic socially distanced celebration of the 2021 graduates over the weekend. USU shared in a news release on Saturday that the class of 2021 is comprised of 124 Uintah Basin community members that earned a total of 66 associate’s, 45 bachelor’s, 12 master’s degrees, and one graduate certificate.

COVID-19 Transmission Index (4/22-4/28)
The local COVID-19 Transmission Index levels are reported at Uintah and Duchesne County at the Moderate Level and Daggett County at the Low Level. According to Thursday’s press release, Uintah County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 6 percent and there were 64 cases in the past 14 days.

TriCounty Health Department announced Thursday that the COVID drive through vaccine shootout is wrapping up and beginning Monday, May 3rd TriCounty Health will administer COVID-19 vaccines the same as other vaccines available at TriCounty Health.
