Halloween Mayor’s Walk Getting Moved to Downtown Vernal

The annual Mayor’s Walk at the Uintah Community Center is a favorite local event while celebrating Halloween and in case you hadn’t heard, this year there’s some big changes. Vernal City Manager Quinn Bennion shared on Monday that the Mayor’s Walk will be in downtown Vernal this year!

Innovation Hub Launches ‘Women Business Owners in the Basin’ Group

The Vernal Innovation Hub continues to offer services to the community and a new group is off to a great start. ‘Women Business Owners of the Basin’ recently held their first meeting and all involved are calling it a success. The group is an affiliate group of Women’s Business Center of Utah and it was organized by the Innovation Hub manager.

DWS Employment Report

The Division of Workforce Services has offered an employment update for the state, including numbers for the Uintah Basin. Utah’s nonfarm payroll employment for August increased about 3.8 percent with the state adding 55,700 jobs since August 2019.

‘Reinforcing American Made Products’ Act Unanimously Passes Senate

The United States Senate unanimously passed Senator Mike Lee’s Reinforcing American-Made Products Act which establishes a national standard for products to be labeled “Made in USA” in interstate commerce. Currently, businesses must navigate conflicting federal and state definitions and regulatory requirements to label products as “Made in USA.”
