Rifle PD Warns Of Spike In Vehicle Thefts

Rifle Police Department is the latest agency to issue the reminder to lock your vehicles and homes and to report any suspicious activity immediately. “In the past couple of weeks, we have received multiple reports of vehicle trespasses and vehicle thefts,” reports Rifle PD.
Uintah High Gives Heads Up on Test-To-Play
Uintah High School is giving students and their families a heads up that test-to-play protocol may be implemented. Test-to-play protocol would include all students participating in athletics and extracurricular activities and would include all students regardless of vaccination or previous COVID-19 infection status.

October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month and Ashley Regional Medical Center’s Angel Dash is taking place tomorrow. The Angel Dash is a fundraiser for the hospital’s bereavement services provided by a special organization called Rachel's Gift.
COVID-19 Transmission Index and Update (10/14-10/20)
As of Thursday, October 14th, TriCounty Health Department reported 7,909 total COVID-19 cases in the tri-county area to date, an increase of 47 new cases from the day before and reaching a total of 63 deaths to date. According to Thursday’s data, there are currently 857 active cases which continues the downward trend.
Ashley National Forest Beaver Unit Prescribed Burn
The Beaver Unit is one of the areas planned for a Prescribed Fire and pile burning on the Duchesne/Roosevelt Ranger District this fall. The Beaver Unit is 1,802 acres. The plan is to burn 300 acres. This unit is at the North end of the West Reservation Ridge Prescribed Burn Project in the Beaver Creek drainage West of Strawberry Peak.
DWR Reminds Public About Sportsman Permits
Utah Division of Wildlife Resources reminds the public that prized 2022 sportsman permits will be accepting submissions starting Wednesday, October 20th. Individuals can apply for permits on the DWR website or over the phone by calling the DWR Vernal Office.

Two new services were announced for Uintah County Library patrons. Uintah County Library is now offering two premier genealogy databases free of charge. First is Newspapers.com, a site that offers full-text access to newspaper archives from around the world.
