Ashley Regional Reminds Community Of Limited Visitor Policy
Due to the current levels of COVID-19 transmission within the community, Ashley Regional Medical Center is reminding the community that there is a limited visitor policy and mask requirement in the hospital. The current policy is that one (1) well visitor is allowed per patient.
Employment Increases Over Last 2 Years; State Unemployment Hits Historic Low
The Department of Workforce Services has released the latest data on employment. Employment increased by 3.7 percent over the last 2 years with the state’s economy adding 59,200 jobs in that time. Counties in northeastern Utah also saw an increase over the last 2 years though not by as much.
Keeping Safety Top Priority On The Ice
With so many great water bodies in the Uintah Basin, ice fishing is a popular wintertime destination. Tonja Kieffer-Selby, DWR Conservation Outreach Manager shares that safety on the ice is a priority. Ice that is 4 to 5 inches thick is considered safe to fish on. Ice that is under 4 inches is unsafe.
Vernal City Council Appoints Replacement Council Member
Vernal City Council has appointed a replacement for the vacant council seat. The seat was left vacant with the resignation of Travis Allan due to his move outside of Vernal City limits.
Sentencing Hearing Scheduled For Apprehended Fugitive
The fugitive who was apprehended on Tuesday in Uintah County has a hearing scheduled in 8th District Court on his original charges. Robbie Trujillo was arrested in August on drug related charges as well as failure to stop or respond at the command of a police officer.
Settlement Will Assist Craig And Moffat County In Transition Away From Coal
A landmark settlement has been reached on Tri-State Generation’s 2020 Electric Resource Plan and part of that settlement will include a process to assist Craig and Moffat County in the transition from coal.

Uintah School District Announces COVID-19 Contingency Plan
The Uintah School District has made some major changes in the way it plans to manage COVID-19 in the schools moving forward. First, the option for in-person learning on Fridays is suspended for the next 6 Fridays. Students will be required to attend classes online on Fridays instead.
