It might seem far off but in reality, summer will soon be here and TriCounty Health has a virtual class tomorrow addressing an important summer safety topic.

The Duchesne Volunteer Fire Department would like to remind the community to make sure your house number can be seen from the road so that emergency responders can quickly find you.

In person jury trials are starting back up since the pandemic put them on hold and the 2nd jury trial to be held in Uintah County post 2020 was held last week.

Duchesne County Sheriff Travis Tucker is thanking the public for assistance received. “On February 3rd, Sheriff Tucker requested assistance from the public in identifying a person of interest,” shares the announcement.

If you have plans to run for public office please note that an important change has been made. The window to file for candidacy has been moved up from the original dates of March 7th through March 11th.

There will be a prescribed fire project near Jensen and could start as soon as next week if weather permits. The Stewart Lake WMA prescribed fire project hopes to remove “dead fuels of cattails, phragmites, bulrush, and other vegetation to improve wildlife habitat by reducing selenium by exposure of area through removal of surface vegetation.

While it’s no surprise that water levels are not looking good, it is still unsettling to think that reservoirs in particular are low and likely to get worse as summer approaches.
