Community Rallying To Save Vernal’s T-Rex

Community members, including local leaders and businesses, are putting their money where their mouth is by donating to the cause of saving Vernal’s T-Rex. A fundraising effort, launched late last week, had raised around $9,000 dollars by Sunday evening.

Increased Flaming Gorge Releases Now Underway

Increased water releases from Flaming Gorge Reservoir are now underway. According to the Bureau of Reclamation, beginning on May 5th, the daily average release from Flaming Gorge Dam is increased from 850 cubic feet per second or cfs to 1,800 cfs.

Sheriff Travis Tucker Bringing Back Citizen’s Academy

The Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office announced that Sheriff Travis Tucker will be bringing back the Citizen’s Academy. Due to COVID, this program has been unavailable the last few years but it is now time to offer it again. The 8-week program begins June 15th with a class once a week.
