6 County Coalition Considering Addition of Sevier County

The 6 County Infrastructure Coalition is once again considering the addition of a 7th County. The organization formed in 2014 under the name of the 7 County Infrastructure Coalition to include Emery, Duchesne, Uintah, Daggett, Carbon, San Juan, and Grand County. Grand County ultimately decided not to join due to a split of support by public leaders and push back from the public. In the last two years, the 6 County Coalition has successfully been involved in securing funding and planning projects that are meant to build infrastructure to the benefit of the entire region. Recently, Sevier County requested entry into the coalition and the Counties will each need to give their permission before admission is granted. The Uintah County Commission considered and approved the request during Monday’s Commission meeting.
