A fugitive wanted out of Colorado was arrested in Vernal on Friday. According to the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office, 21-year-old Stanley Lucero had a half a million dollar warrant out for his arrest in connection to a homicide that took place in Grand Junction.
Uintah Fire District Receives Funding For Tridell Fire Station/Community Center
Plans for a fire station/Community Center in Tridell are coming together. The Uintah Fire District announced on Friday that CIB funding has been awarded for the project in the amount of a $2,973,000 dollar grant and a 0.5 percent 30-year loan of $500,000 dollars.

MAPLand Act Signed Into Law
Congressman Blake Moore’s Modernizing Access to our Public Land (MAPLand) Act has officially been signed into law. The MAPLand Act will direct federal land management agencies to digitize and standardize mapping records.
