Local Tech Company Warns Of Facebook Scam

It’s not a new scam but it continues to get new victims. Local tech company, Techris Design, is offering some free advice in the form of a scam warning. “Be careful who you accept a friend request from on Facebook,” shares the warning. “Your information might be used against you.”

Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office Conducting Checkpoints

Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office shared this week that deputies issued several citations and warnings during the busy holiday weekend after stopping hundreds of drivers at an administrative checkpoint in western Duchesne County. Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Monty Nay reports that 360 vehicles were stopped at a checkpoint on Highway 35 just west of Hanna on September 6th.

Jury Finds Former Craig Councilman Guilty of Charges from Predator Sting

A jury found a former Craig Councilman Guilty of charges associated with an internet predator sting near Denver nearly two years ago. According to the Arrest Affidavit, Brian Paul Mackenzie was arrested on October 11th, 2019 for the crimes of Internet Luring of a Child, Internet Sexual Exploitation of a Child, and Criminal Attempt Sexual Assault on a Child.

On Thursday morning, Uintah High School students gathered for an annual tradition. Every year on or near September 11th, the student body of Uintah High School gathers outside at the flag pole for a special ceremony. The school’s old flag is retired and a new flag is raised in its place.

COVID-19 Transmission Index and Update (9/9-9/15)

As of Thursday, September 9th, TriCounty Health Department reported 6,243 total COVID-19 cases in the tri-county area to date, an increase of 97 new cases from the day before. According to Thursday’s data, there are currently 849 active cases.
