Open Burn Information For Uintah and Daggett County

The Uintah and Daggett County Fire Warden has shared that on September 15th, the Division of Forestry Fire and State Lands will start considerations for issuing permits for open burning in the unincorporated parts of the counties (outside of city limits).

BLM Performs Wild Horse Roundup in Moffat County

The exceptional drought and lack of forage is the main reason cited by the BLM for the emergency gathering of wild horses in Moffat County this month. According to the BLM announcement, the emergency wild horse gather from the Sand Wash Basin Herd Management Area began on September 1st about 45 miles west of Craig.

Local Hospitals at Capacity in Emergency Rooms and Intensive Care Units

Uintah County issued a press release to the public on Friday urging all to consider their activities while medical care is limited. In the press release they shared the following: “Uintah Basin Medical Center and Ashley Regional Medical Hospital have reported that each are at capacity in the emergency rooms and intensive care units.

Uintah Basin Community Shows Up For 9/11 National Day of Service

All over the Uintah Basin on Saturday, community members found ways to serve as part of the 9/11 National Day of Service. Just Serve Uintah Basin shared some of the projects accomplished. In Ballard, 150 people showed up from the Roosevelt area to clean 180 acres of land that had been used as a dumping site for years but has now been made into the Carnage Bike Trail.
