National Weather Service reports that September 1st marked the beginning of Meteorological Fall and the conclusion of Meteorological Summer, which was observed from June 1st to August 31st.
Fall Prescribed Burning Plans For Flaming Gorge Ranger District
Prescribed burns are scheduled on the Flaming Gorge Ranger District between October and December 2021, however there are currently numerous fires across the Western United States and resources are stretched thin. Officials want the public to know that Ashley National Forest will NOT implement any burns until the following conditions are met.
‘Help Us Help You’; Uintah Basin Healthcare Shares Hospital Capacity Concerns
Uintah Basin Healthcare issued a press release on Tuesday with a testing and hospital capacity update they hope the community will seriously consider. The last week of August, Uintah Basin Healthcare averaged 50 COVID tests daily and now are averaging 89 COVID tests daily. Tests are now at 27 percent positive. In 2020, the ER averaged 206 patients per week.

The Uintah Basin Association of Governments has helped many Uintah Basin families get into new construction homes through a unique housing program and right now they are looking for one more family to get on board. The Mutual Self Help Housing program helps local families build sweat equity in their own homes.

A Craig man is in the Moffat County Jail after turning himself in this week. 31-year-old Justin Smith had been charged with 2nd degree Attempted Murder related to a July 20th encounter.
DWR: Common Hunting and Fishing Violations
The Division of Wildlife Resources is sharing common hunting and fishing violations in the hope that these can be avoided by more Utah sportsmen. If you want to hunt on private property, you must get written permission from the landowner in advance. Do not trespass — it can result in fines and a class B misdemeanor.
Ashley Regional Medical Center Announces Restrictions on Visitation
Ashley Regional Medical Center announced Monday new restrictions on visitation, effective immediately. Due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases and the increased rate of transmission in the area, Ashley Regional Medical Center shares that they will be enforcing a one well visitor policy effective September 13th for all inpatient units and outpatient areas.
