The local Special Olympics ‘Walk for Inclusion’ held last week was a success. The walk was held August 12th at the Naples City Park and had around 50 Special Olympics athletes, volunteers, and Special Olympics supporters in attendance.

TriCounty Health Department is extending their thanks for the efforts made locally to provide the public with information and support as the COVID-19 pandemic continues. In a press release issued on Monday, TriCounty Health pointed to Davis Food and Drug as an example of following CDC guidelines and joining the mission of providing information, offering vaccination services, and promoting overall health.
K-12 Broadband Grant Funds Still Available
Uintah School District wants the public to know it still has funds available to help provide broadband internet access for students enrolled in district programs who do not otherwise have broadband internet at home or do not have adequate broadband internet speeds at home.
Utah Conservation Corps Member Assists DWR In ‘Night Trawls’
DWR Fisheries Biologist Ryan Mosley had some excellent help last week on Flaming Gorge Reservoir while performing night trawls. Thanks to a partnership between the Forest Service and Utah State University, Utah Conservation Corps members, like Hunter Gahley, are able to work in Forest Service positions during the busy summer season.
Earl Douglass’ Family Visits Dinosaur National Monument
A trip to Dinosaur National Monument is special no matter who you are but one family this week had the added bonus of connecting with their roots while there. Multiple generations of the Iverson family enjoyed a visit to the Monument and were able to take pictures in the same locations as historic photos of Earl Douglass over 100 years later.

Trout Restoration Project Underway on Ashley National Forest
Today and tomorrow are the days the DWR native cutthroat trout restoration project is taking place within the Carter and Sheep Creek drainages. The East Fork of Carter Creek is closed August 17th and 18th while the treatment is run.
