Moffat County Getting Help to Update and Maintain Trails
In an article from Craig Daily Press, a new group was highlighted in their efforts to update and maintain trails in the Moffat County region. Northwest Colorado Trails Corporation will help trails for motorized recreators, mountain bikers, trail horse riders and others.

Memorial This Friday to Honor Vernal PD Cpl. Troy Davis
A well known and respected community member passed away unexpectedly this week from a health condition and the community is invited to a memorial in his honor this Friday at the Uintah Conference Center. A memorial for Vernal Police Department Cpl. Troy Davis will be displayed from Friday, July 16th at noon until the afternoon of July 17th.

TriCounty Health Department Director Kirk Benge visited the KLCY studio this week to talk about the upward COVID trend and his hope that those choosing not to get the vaccine will reconsider. With cases spiking, Ashley Regional Medical Center has averaged about 10 people per day needing hospitalized for oxygen.
Flaming Gorge Upping Releases in Response to Drought and Lake Powell Concerns
The Bureau of Reclamation announced that as of July 14th, the Flaming Gorge Reservoir pool elevation is 6023.31 feet, which amounts to 83 percent of live storage capacity. Unregulated inflows for the month of June reached approximately 149,000 acre-feet (af), which is 38% of the average June unregulated inflow volume.
Flash Flood Warnings for Bear Burn Scar and Throughout the Region
While rain is most welcome it also comes with the need for caution as National Weather Service has issued Flash Flood Warnings in areas throughout the Region. The Bear Fire Burn Scar in Carbon County was issued a serious warning and flash flooding has occurred.

‘John Doe’ Arrested After Chase Leads LEO to Multiple Stolen Vehicles/Drugs
A man who impersonated a federal officer, led police on a chase in Duchesne County, and then refused to give his name was arrested under the name ‘John Doe’ on Monday on 19 offenses including multiple counts of theft, drugs, reckless driving, criminal trespass, and impersonating an officer.
