At the recent Vernal Chamber of Commerce meeting, Charlene Chapman gave a report on the “tremendously successful” Extreme Bull Riding event. It was a very unique opportunity for Vernal as there are a limited number of cities the Extreme Bull Riding event goes to.

Farmers Feeding Utah Coming to Duchesne County

Farmer’s Feeding Utah is coming to the Uintah Basin and an effort is underway to gather donations for the cause. So far $18,000 dollars have been raised for the Duchesne County Food Project with a goal of reaching $25,000 dollars.

They are hosting the 32nd annual .22 Josie Shoot event next month and registration is now open for ladies to sign-up. “This event is designed to give women a supportive, encouraging and comfortable atmosphere where they can learn and improve their shooting skills while competing for prizes,” shares the DWR announcement.

Ashley Regional Medical Center Earns 5-Star CMS Rating for Hospital Quality

Ashley Regional Medical Center has announced that it has been awarded five stars in the latest round of Overall Hospital Quality Star Ratings released by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. According to the press release, Ashley Regional’s Overall Hospital Quality 5-Star Rating puts it among the top 14 percent of all eligible hospitals in the U.S. with respect to patient safety and the overall patient experience.

TriCounty Health: COVID-19 Cases Continue to Drop

Public health officials have great news. Cases of COVID-19 continue to drop in the TriCounty Health District and throughout Utah. With 99 active COVID-19 cases, the tri-county area is now under 100 active COVID-19 cases for the first time in months.

DWR: Places for Great Bird Watching in Northeastern Utah

Spring means wildlife migration and the Division of Wildlife Resources is encouraging all nature lovers to make time for some bird watching. “Early mornings from 6 to 9am are great times to locate birds since they tend to be very vocal and active during those hours,” shares the DWR.

Roosevelt City Council will be conducting a public hearing regarding the city’s fee schedule. The agenda includes time to receive specific comments on Resolution 2021-307, the consolidated fee schedule that sets all fees for Roosevelt City departments and services.
