Roosevelt City Requesting Feedback

Roosevelt City is asking the public for feedback on designs submitted as part of their rebranding effort. The City issued the call and accepted logo designs as part of a contest through the month of January letting residents know they could submit drawings, paintings, digital art, or other styles of design.

Duchesne County Man Suing Investigating Officer and Agencies for Damages

In the spring of 2019, the last of the charges in 8th District Court filed against a Duchesne County man were dropped and now the man is seeking damages. Charges were filed in May of 2018 against 49-year-old Darin Ace Thomas including two 1st Degree Felony charges of Criminal Conspiracy, two 3rd Degree Felony charges of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, one 3rd Degree Felony charge of Criminal Conspiracy, and one Misdemeanor charge of Sexual Solicitation.

Successful Building Utah Conference Wraps Up

Well over 300 visitors enjoyed time in Vernal this week as they attended the Building Utah Conference at the Uintah Conference Center. In addition to the speeches by the Governor and Lt. Governor, the conference had panels focused on Financing Infrastructure Development, Harnessing Public/Private Investments, and State Infrastructure Investment as well as other workshops and breakout sessions.

Two Separate Overdoses on Same Day Prompt Warning from Law Enforcement

The Rifle Police Department shared the following on Wednesday: Two separate overdoses occurred in Rifle in the early morning hours of April 7th, and it appears that both subjects used what they believed to be heroin. Both patients were provided multiple doses of Narcan on scene, and were subsequently transported to Grand River Hospital by Colorado River Fire Rescue.
