Uintah Heritage Museum Seeking Donations of Mother’s Day Cards
Mothers are the backbone of any community and here in the Uintah Basin there is a desire to let ALL mothers know that they are appreciated. The Uintah County Heritage Museum is asking anyone that has crafting talent, those that have a deep love of mothers or those that want to serve in a meaningful way to join the cause of making special Mother’s Day cards.
Roosevelt City Mayor Submits Witness Testimony During House Committee Forum
A local leader helped shine a light on the impacts of the Biden administration’s Executive Orders affecting the energy industries during a special virtual forum that took place Friday. The House Committee on Natural Resources Republican members hosted the forum titled “Where Are The Jobs?” and Congressman Blake Moore invited Roosevelt City Mayor JR Bird as a witness.
UDOT Updates Alternate Route Instructions on Starvation Bridge Project
The Utah Department of Transportation has an additional note for travelers concerning the Starvation Reservoir Bridge construction site. UDOT reported Friday that delays have been minimal, with wait times of around 5 to 7 minutes through the work zone.
Smithsonian Exhibition Coming to Uintah Heritage Museum
Uintah County will soon be host to a traveling Smithsonian exhibit. UtahHumanities.org shares that the ‘H2O Today’ Smithsonian exhibit will be displayed at the Uintah County Heritage Museum from April 26th through July 31st.

Ute Indian Tribe Enacts Water Restrictions as 50 Homes Without Water
The Ute Indian Tribe Water Systems Department announced Wednesday that they are enacting water restrictions. Water Systems Assistant Director Jenna Reed made the announcement stating first a notice that 50 homes on the Uriah Heap system are experiencing low pressure or no water due to low peak and drought.
Survey Leads to Uintah School Board Adopting Hybrid Schedule For Next Year
Uintah School District released a press release Thursday sharing the following: The Uintah School Board on Wednesday night voted in an open public meeting to adopt a schedule for the 2021-2022 academic year that will once again have students attending classes both in person and remotely each week.
COVID-19 Transmission Index (4/15-4/21)
The local COVID-19 Transmission Index levels are Uintah and Duchesne County at the Moderate Level and Daggett County at the Low Level. According to Thursday’s press release, Uintah County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 5 percent and there were 51 cases in the past 14 days.
