Distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine continues with TriCounty Health Department giving it their full focus. According to the latest data shared on coronavirus.utah.gov, 580,051 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Utah which means about 8 percent of Utahns have been fully vaccinated.

State Parks See Huge Jump in Visitation
Steinaker, Red Fleet, and Starvation are among the hot spots that saw a major jump in visitation last year as people went searching for safe socially distant breaks from being stuck at home. According to the Utah Division of Parks and Recreation, state parks throughout the state of Utah saw an overall increase in visitation from the year before of over 2.6 million visitors.

There’s been an update since the recent announcement that the Craig Police Department Chief of Police Jerry DeLong had resigned. Craig Daily Press reports that the Craig City Manager rescinded the separation agreement with DeLong that included two months salary and continued health insurance after “disparaging remarks” were made by DeLong about the agreement.
Ute Wrestling Team Wins 4A State Title; Keddy Named 4A Coach of the Year
After a fantastic showing of endurance and athleticism, the Uintah High Ute wrestling team are the 4A state champions! The Ute team earned an accumulative 332.5 points beating out the Mountain Crest team at 295 points.
Governor Bumps Up Eligibility for 65 and Older to Receive COVID-19 Vaccine
Governor Spencer Cox announced Thursday the opening of eligibility for COVID-19 vaccinations for 65 years and older individuals in Utah. Eligibility for those with underlying health conditions is set for March 1st. The TriCounty Health Department will be moving the Vernal vaccination location from the Vernal TriCounty Health Department office to the Uintah Conference Center starting Tuesday, February 23rd.
