The driver killed over the weekend in a Highway 40 crash has been identified. According to Utah Highway Patrol, the deceased driver has been identified as 54-year-old Robert Hoff of Fort Duchesne. The accident happened on Saturday, January 30th, at approximately 6:19 pm.

Local Support for HB 166 to Increase Penalties for those who Shoot Livestock
A bill advancing in the Utah Legislature has Uintah Basin support behind it. HB 166 “addresses the treatment and theft of livestock, including livestock guardian dogs and livestock infrastructure.” This means that if the bill is passed, a person who shoots or steals a farmers’ livestock could lose their hunting privileges among other penalties.
