Driver in Fatal Highway 40 Crash Identified

The driver killed over the weekend in a Highway 40 crash has been identified. According to Utah Highway Patrol, the deceased driver has been identified as 54-year-old Robert Hoff of Fort Duchesne. The accident happened on Saturday, January 30th, at approximately 6:19 pm.

Local Support for HB 166 to Increase Penalties for those who Shoot Livestock

A bill advancing in the Utah Legislature has Uintah Basin support behind it. HB 166 “addresses the treatment and theft of livestock, including livestock guardian dogs and livestock infrastructure.” This means that if the bill is passed, a person who shoots or steals a farmers’ livestock could lose their hunting privileges among other penalties.

Randlett’s own Josh Frost is at the top of his rodeo game. On January 16th, Frost won the Sandhills Stock Show & Rodeo in Odessa, Texas putting him at the top of the world standings. Well he did what he does best on Friday, January 29th, and kept that number 1 spot by winning the PRCA Xtreme Bulls competition in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Snow comes and goes in the forecast and the Department of Public Safety has some timely reminders to share. Ice and snow means the roads will be slick, which means Troopers and other emergency responders will likely be handling crashes. In addition to other winter driving tips, the Utah Highway Patrol wants to remind drivers of a life-saving one: SLOW DOWN, MOVE OVER for vehicles on the shoulder.
