The COVID-19 update from TriCounty Health issued on January 5th provides the latest local report on COVID-19. According to the report, there have been a total of 2,596 confirmed cases to date in the TriCounty Health District. Of these, 1,976 cases are considered recovered and 600 are active.

Ashley Regional Medical Center welcomed their New Year’s Baby on January 1st at 8:50am. Oddly enough, Uintah Basin Medical Center didn’t welcome their New Year’s Baby until the afternoon of January 4th. Baby girl Kennedy Lee Roberts was born to Morgan and Jazmyn Roberts on Monday at 1:02pm.
Free COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Testing Available at Union High School
As of yesterday, Union High School is the new Uintah Basin site for the free COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Testing. The Utah Department of Health announced that this testing would be available at locations throughout the state and Union High was selected as the best location for northeastern Utah.
Massey and McKee Sworn In As New Uintah School Board Members
It’s official. Todd Massey and Tawnya McKee have been sworn in as the new Uintah School Board members. 8th District Court Judge Clark McClellan performed the ceremony during a special meeting of the Uintah School Board on Monday evening. Tawnya McKee is serving as the board representative over Uintah School Board District #4.

TriCounty Health Upcoming Public Hearing for Draft Cosmetology Rule
TriCounty Health Department has an upcoming public meeting for the Draft Cosmetology Rule. The state legislature asked the state health board to develop rules to ensure public health for services including barber shops, hair salons, estheticians, electrologists, nail salons, and beauty schools.
