The many elves of the Vernal Rotary Club gathered on Thursday night in preparation for the distribution of Santa’s Community Effort which collects Christmas gifts for local children and families in need. The program relies on the generosity of the community and help is still needed.

Eagle View Elementary Move 7th Grade Class to Online Learning
Uintah School District announced Wednesday that, as a precaution, Eagle View Elementary has moved their 7th grade class to online learning following a third confirmed case of COVID-19 since December 2nd. “There are currently 33 students enrolled in the 7th grade at Eagle View,” shares the District announcement.

The public comment period has been extended for the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the proposed Uinta Basin Railway. The Draft EIS analyzes the potential environmental impacts of the Seven County Infrastructure Coalition rail proposal.

Millions Awarded to Local Businesses in Form of Uintah Small Business Grants
2020 has been a devastating year for local businesses but thankfully there have been programs offering some relief. Uintah County issued a press release on Tuesday announcing that $4.5 million dollars have been awarded locally in two rounds of funding. “Uintah County, Vernal City, Naples City, and Ballard City partnered together to create the Uintah Small Business Grant to help offer relief funding for local businesses.
