Uintah School District COVID-19 Quarantine Guidelines Update
Uintah School District provided a district update on Friday sharing some “good news” concerning state quarantine guidelines. Governor Gary Herbert has announced that when school resumes on January 4th, those who have close contact at school with another individual who tests positive for COVID-19 will not be required to quarantine if both individuals were wearing masks at the time of contact.
Utah Employment Update from Department of Workforce Services
Utah’s job market continues to improve, especially compared to much of the country. November’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for the state is 4.3 percent, that is up slightly from 4.1 percent in October. The national unemployment rate went from 6.9 percent in October to 6.7 percent in November.

Children may be ready to brave the chilly air to enjoy the outdoor winter activities but parents need to be aware of the risk of long exposure to cold. The first stage of frostbite is called frostnip. The thing to watch for is redness or soreness to the skin.
‘Sub For Seniors’ Delivering Holiday Goodies to Hundreds of Local Elderly
An amazing force of volunteers is making sure the local elderly population feel love this Christmas season as they deliver the goods through the Sub For Seniors program. Six teams split up routes on Thursday as they delivered goodies to around 320 local seniors.
Duchesne Fire Department Respond to Monday Structure Fire
Thankfully all got out safely from a home fire earlier this week in Duchesne County. According to the Duchesne Volunteer Fire Department, the incident took place on Monday at 160 South 200 East in Duchesne.
Uintah High Athletics Moving to 5A in 2021-2022 School Year
The Utah High School Activities Association Board of Trustees voted Thursday to move all Uintah High School sports and activities from 4A to 5A starting in the 2021 – 2022 school year. The news was announced in a press release from Uintah High Athletics on Thursday.
