Governor Herbert announced Tuesday that the state has dropped the color coded scale guiding COVID-19 response and have adopted instead a ‘COVID-19 Transmission Index’ that categorizes counties by transmission levels. Based on this new index, Uintah County is categorized at the ‘Moderate Level of Transmission’ while Duchesne and Daggett County are at the ‘Low Level of Transmission’.

Uintah School District announced in a press release on Monday that they have been awarded a $300,000 dollar grant to provide broadband internet for students enrolled in district programs who do not have broadband internet or adequate broadband speeds at home.
Court Proceedings Continue For Those Charged in Melo Murder
The Guilty verdicts delivered by a jury to Kristy Lee Whitchurch in the 2018 Murder of Sherry Lynn Melo may be just the beginning of the trials to come in the case. Whitchurch was found Guilty on October 8th of 1st Degree Felony Aggravated Burglary, 2nd Degree Felony Aggravated Assault, and 1st Degree Felony Murder in the death of Sherry Lynn Melo.
Uintah Basin Healthcare Altamont Clinic Offering Flu Shots
TriCounty Health Department recently held their Flu ShootOut throughout four locations in the Basin. The Center for Disease Control states, "vaccine should be administered by the end of October, but vaccination should continue to be offered as long as influenza viruses are circulating locally and unexpired vaccines are available."
4-H Hosting a Dungeons and Dragons Club
Everyone has heard the name Dungeons and Dragons but not everyone has played the game. If anyone has had an interest in trying this popular roleplaying game, 4-H in Uintah County is starting a Dungeons and Dragons Club. The first meeting will be held today, Tuesday, October 13th at the USU Extension (328 E. 200 S.).
