Small Plane With 6 People on Board Crashes Near Moon Lake

There did not appear to be any life threatening injuries as result of a plane crash on Friday morning in Duchesne County. According to the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and emergency personnel were dispatched to the crash near Moon Lake at about 11:45am.

A historic building in Vernal featured in books and television shows, including Ripley’s Believe It or Not, is getting a major remodel. Zions Bank representative Zachery Modde announced this week at the Vernal Chamber luncheon that the bank will be moving on August 7th from their famous building on Main Street into the old Oak House Furniture building just south on the same block.

The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources announced Wednesday that another record fish has been caught on Flaming Gorge Reservoir. Chance Scott was fishing the Gorge recently when he caught a 53 pound 15 ounce lake trout.

A retired local K9 is in need of some help. Arctos is an 8-year-old German Shepard. She retired from the Naples Police Department on March 4th, 2019, after working 3 years as a dual purpose K9. Arctos has enjoyed family life since her retirement but misfortune recently struck when she was diagnosed with Autoimmune Mediated Polyarthritis that has attacked her front wrists and unfortunately there is no cure.
