Uintah Basin Technical College will have a scholarship opportunity for students working to get their certification for Security Technician, Network Technician, and IT Support Technician. This special scholarship is made possible by the Les Olson Company in honor of Matt Olson who passed away.

UDOT Highway 40 Gusher Update

K-9 Deployment Ends Prolonged Chase of Man Who Violated Protection Order
Vernal Police issued a press release on Sunday sharing that on Friday August 14th, Vernal City Police Officers were called to a home on an unknown problem. Upon arrival Officers found that a Court Order of Protection had been violated and the suspect, identified as 48-year-old John Renwick had fled the scene on foot.
72-Year-Old Woman Arrested After Shooting Roommate in Jensen
A 72-year-old woman is in custody after she shot her roommate with a handgun Friday afternoon in Jensen. According to a press release from the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the residence in Jensen at approximately 2:25 p.m. on the report of a shooting.

Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo Reports on Successful 2020 Rodeo
The Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo defied the odds this year and held a successful world class rodeo in July while similar events had been cancelled around the country. The Vernal Area Chamber reported last week that the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo attracted World Champion Cowboys and attendees from all over the country.
Ute Tribe Calls for Respect of Heritage After Offensive Incident
The Ute Indian Tribe is calling for respect after an offensive incident took place involving the statue of the Moqui Chief. In 2018, the Moqui Chief statue was installed at the Ute Crossing Intersection.
