The Vernal PD reminds citizens of Vernal City that road construction is taking place throughout the city. The crews are doing rock chips and sealant for the roads. The police department asks that drivers make sure that vehicles are not left parked in the roadway, as this will slow the process.

A recreational use advisory has been issued for Flaming Gorge Reservoir by the Wyoming Department of Health. Harmful cyanobacterial bloom, also known as harmful algal blooms and blue-green algae, can cause health risks for people and animals.
Recreating Near the Pine Gulch Fire Area
There have been some inquiries as to whether individuals can recreate near the Pine Gulch Fire. In clarification, all road closures put in place by the county sheriff are still in effect, as is the BLM closure order, since there is still an active fire and heavy fire traffic.

Ashley National Forest East Fork Fire Update
The East Fork Fire grew another 196 acres. That brings the total of the acres burned to 2,752 with 5% contained. Those monitoring the fire are letting it burn in the High Uintas Wilderness of the Ashley National Forest, playing its natural role in the ecosystem.

Bear Encounters Getting Closer to Home
Bear encounters are increasing and it's not just in mountain campgrounds. Early Sunday morning a bear decided to visit the Anderson family in Uintah County. The visitor was clearly hungry as he ate all the peaches off their tree, broke the tree in half, and made a giant mess of the trash cans.
