Utah State University will be having classes this fall and there will be some important changes. All students will need access to a computer and high speed internet. Biggest Single Day Increase of COVID-19 Cases in TriCounty Health District
Thursday saw the biggest single day jump of COVID-19 cases reported in the TriCounty Health District. The Thursday COVID-19 Situational Update on www.tricountyhealth.com shows that the total of confirmed cases for the entire TriCounty Health District went from 52 on Wednesday to 62 on Thursday.
Executive Summary of Uintah School District Draft Reopening Plan Now Available
The Uintah School District has provided their Draft Reopening Plan Executive Summary for the public to review and offer their feedback on. In a Thursday press release, the District shared that the plan was developed by a COVID-19 Task Force made of numerous staff and community members.
Dollar Ridge Fire Emergency Watershed Protection Project Underway
Duchesne County Fire Marshal Mike Lefler issued a news release on Wednesday announcing that construction is underway on the Dollar Ridge Fire Emergency Watershed Protection Project. The project is taking place in the Strawberry River and Timber Canyon areas to repair damage caused by the Dollar Ridge Fire and the flash floods that followed.
Fires Caused by Fireworks in Uintah County; Wildfire Prevention Message
Fireworks have been the cause of multiple fires over the last week, primarily over the holiday weekend and all are urged to use extreme caution to avoid human caused wildfires.
Roosevelt Community Planning Summer Celebration
Even though Roosevelt City is not planning to do their UBIC- Uintah Basin in Celebration summer festival, that is not stopping some of the fun from moving forward. Community volunteers, with help of the Roosevelt Arts. Parks, and Recreation Committee, are planning events to be held from July 31st through August 1st.

Uintah School District Shares Draft of School Reopening Plan; Invites Public Input
The Uintah School Board met Wednesday night in a public meeting where the community got its first glimpse of the proposed school reopening plans. The Board had received the full copy of the plan just 24 hours before the meeting and many in the public attended to see for themselves the proposed plan and offer their input in person.
