A partnership between Uintah County Library and the USU Extension is providing a unique activity to help families keep up on their reading during the summer and still be active as a family. The Community Read ‘N Walk uses yard signs to display popular story books.

Uintah Basin’s social calendar is slowly starting to fill up with fun activities but such events still have unique issues and challenges to help them come into fruition. One such event was the Uintah Basin Medical Center Golf Classic, a fundraiser for Brody’s Fund.

A brief chase in Uintah County over the weekend involving a stolen vehicle turned up drugs and a loaded handgun.

It might not be a pleasant thought but it is the time of year in Utah in which rattlesnakes are on the move trying to find water and rodents. In the summer the snakes are most active at dawn and dusk. There are five species of rattlesnakes in Utah, with the most common being the Great Basin rattlesnake.

The Kunz sisters have made an additional donation to Utah State University in support of nursing students at USU Uintah Basin. This time Ann and Inella Kunz gave $26,000 dollars to the Utah State University Foundation and the Ann and Inella Kunz Scholarship Endowment.
