Duchesne County School District has issued a press release concerning 4th quarter grading. For all elementary schools, the MasteryConnect grading will occur as normal except if a student is not proficient or the teacher lacks evidence to declare a proficiency level the report will be blank.

Man Shot in Myton on Thursday Dies of Injuries; Arrests Made
The man shot in Myton on April 30th has died of his injuries. According to the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office, 21-year-old Kyler John Smith of Myton died early Friday morning at a Wasatch Front hospital. Authorities share that 59-year-old Michael Raymond Reyburn was arrested following the shooting and was booked into the Duchesne County Jail.
Unique Uintah County Commission Meeting to Support Local Restaurants
The Uintah County Commission will be holding their regularly scheduled Commission meeting today but in a very unique way. The May 4th meeting will be held at 11am, the regular time, but it will be held via Zoom video conference call with elected officials participating remotely from more than 20 local restaurants across Uintah County.
New COVID-19 Case in Duchesne County; Increase in Recovered Cases
With a new case in Duchesne County, the overall total COVID-19 cases for the TriCounty Health District has reached 14 as of the Sunday Situational Update on www.tricountyhealth.com. Duchesne County now has 8 total cases with 3 Recovered and Uintah County remains at 6 total cases.
Ashley Regional Medical Center Recognized Nationally
Ashley Regional Medical Center has been nationally recognized yet again. Ashley Regional has been awarded an ‘A’ in the spring 2020 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, shares a Thursday press release. Safety Grades are assigned to hospitals across the country every 6 months focused on hospitals that prevent medical errors.
Public’s Help Requested Following Burglary in Maybell Area
Moffat County Sheriff’s Office investigators are asking for the public’s help in locating the suspects in a burglary. According to the Sheriff’s Office, during the late evening of April 30th or early morning of May 1st, unknown suspects broke into a locked detached garage in the Maybell area of Moffat County.
Shooting in Myton Under Investigation
A man is in the hospital following a shooting in Myton on April 30th. According to a press release from the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office, detectives are investigating the shooting which was reported to Central Dispatch about 2:05pm on Thursday. “Deputies and emergency medical personnel responded to a residence near 300 East Main Street in Myton,” shares Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office.
Utah Enters ‘Orange’ Moderate Risk Phase by Governor Herbert’s Order
Governor Herbert’s Executive Order moving Utah’s status from Red (High Risk) to Orange (Moderate Risk) takes effect today, May 1st. TriCounty Health Officer Jordan Mathis explains that this doesn't change a whole lot for the TriCounty area. Employees are still required to wear face coverings and the public is still strongly encouraged to wear face coverings.
Uintah County Commission Extends Emergency Declaration to Aid Locals
The Uintah County Commission held a special meeting on Thursday and voted unanimously to extend its local emergency declaration while rescinding the executive order that had closed county buildings and facilities except by appointment. They also modified the executive order that required county employees to wear face coverings while at work to now include members of the public who enter county facilities.
