The Uintah County Republican Convention was held Monday evening. For Uintah County Commission Seat C, the Round One results were Troy Slaugh 29%, Brad Horrocks 35%, and Shawn Labrum 36%. Round Two results were Brad Horrocks 45% and Shawn Labrum 54%.

Uintah Basin Healthcare Appreciates Local Support; Invites More Mask Donations
In these troubling times we have come together to show our support for the community and each other. Uintah Basin Healthcare has been strongly serving despite the danger they face. Some of the ways that the Basin has shown their support includes one hundred 3D printed ear savers and face shields donated by Craig Collin, food has been donated by Vernal Cafe Rio, Roosevelt Taco Bell and 7-11 Ranch Restaurant.
Give’m Health: TriCounty Health COVID-19 Update
TriCounty Health Officer Jordan Mathis gave his weekly COVID-19 update on Tuesday for the Give’m Health segment on Eagle Country 105.5 FM. Addressing concerns and criticisms from the community, Mathis emphasized that absolutely no one wants to be in the current situation and the efforts of local officials is aimed at mitigating the pandemic while still allowing businesses to be open and operate safely.
Uintah County Library ‘Maker’s Hunt’ Bags
Did you miss out on an Easter Egg hunt? The Uintah County Library is having a ‘Makers’ Hunt’. There are 21 bags of miscellaneous supplies spread out all around Uintah County. Once a kid finds a bag they are to use the materials inside it to make something. What should it be, you might ask? Only you and your creativity can answer that question.

Outlaw Trail Theater auditions for ‘South Pacific’ will still be held next week and those interested are urged to sign up. In order to control the amount of people gathering, the auditions will be held by appointment.
Body Found Believed to be Missing Camper in Daggett County
A body found in Daggett County is believed to be a camper reported missing earlier this month and last seen in the Brown’s Park area. The Daggett County Sheriff’s Office received a report that 44-year-old Leonard Corby Fisher was missing late on the evening of April 4th and according to the report, no one had had contact with Fisher since March 31st or April 1st.
Total COVID-19 Cases in TriCounty District Adjusted Back Down to 10
As of Monday evening, there were no new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the TriCounty Health District. In fact, the case added on Sunday that brought the total in the Uintah Basin to 11 was a mistake.
Restrictions on Uintah Basin State Parks Lifted
State parks located in Daggett, Uintah, and Duchesne Counties are no longer restricted to residents only residing within each county. The Utah Department of Natural Resources announced Friday that Governor Herbert had lifted the restrictions on all Utah State Parks and the only state parks that remained restricted were due to local health orders.
Uintah County Library Announces Soft-Reopening
The Uintah County Library will be open to the public starting Tuesday, February 21st. “This initial soft-opening is an opportunity for people to come in to browse and check out the Library's collections,” explains Library Director Sam Passey.
Utah’s March Employment Report
The latest employment numbers issued by the Department of Workforce Services provides a snapshot of employment in Utah before social distancing measures were widely taken throughout the state. Utah’s nonfarm payroll employment for March 2020 grew by an estimated 2.6 percent from one year prior, adding 40,400 jobs to the economy in that time.
