The Uintah County Republican Convention was held Monday evening. For Uintah County Commission Seat C, the Round One results were Troy Slaugh 29%, Brad Horrocks 35%, and Shawn Labrum 36%. Round Two results were Brad Horrocks 45% and Shawn Labrum 54%.

Body Found Believed to be Missing Camper in Daggett County

A body found in Daggett County is believed to be a camper reported missing earlier this month and last seen in the Brown’s Park area. The Daggett County Sheriff’s Office received a report that 44-year-old Leonard Corby Fisher was missing late on the evening of April 4th and according to the report, no one had had contact with Fisher since March 31st or April 1st.

Restrictions on Uintah Basin State Parks Lifted

State parks located in Daggett, Uintah, and Duchesne Counties are no longer restricted to residents only residing within each county. The Utah Department of Natural Resources announced Friday that Governor Herbert had lifted the restrictions on all Utah State Parks and the only state parks that remained restricted were due to local health orders.

The Uintah County Library will be open to the public starting Tuesday, February 21st. “This initial soft-opening is an opportunity for people to come in to browse and check out the Library's collections,” explains Library Director Sam Passey.

Utah’s March Employment Report

The latest employment numbers issued by the Department of Workforce Services provides a snapshot of employment in Utah before social distancing measures were widely taken throughout the state. Utah’s nonfarm payroll employment for March 2020 grew by an estimated 2.6 percent from one year prior, adding 40,400 jobs to the economy in that time.
