A new traveling exhibit will be on display at the Uintah County Heritage Museum, opening January 10th. The display, titled “Eres Poderosx/You Are Powerful”, is a collection of works from the Nopalera Artist Collection which shares the work of artists from different cultures and backgrounds. The artists featured are Izzy Fernandez, David Peralta, Ella Mendoza, Jorge Arellano, Veronica Perez, Andrew Alba, Lola Reyes, and Melissa Alvarez. They are all Latin American Youth who now live and thrive in the desert landscape of Utah.

Wolf Creek Pass Closed for Winter Season
State Road 35 over Wolf Creek Pass between Hanna and Francis is now closed for the season. The Utah Department of Transportation made the announcement of the seasonal road closure on Wednesday.
Outlaw Trail Theater Announces 2020 Show
Outlaw Trail Theater has announced their highly anticipated musical production for the year 2020. This year’s show will be the world famous and award winning ‘South Pacific’ from Rodgers and Hammerstein. The original Broadway production premiered in 1949 and quickly became the second-longest running Broadway musical for that time, second only to Oklahoma! The production will be directed by Brian Litton and choreographed by Taunia Wheeler. ‘South Pacific’ will run on select dates from June 22nd through July 3rd. Uintah County and Vernal City Explore New Airport Agreement
Uintah County and Vernal City continue to explore the options for a new agreement over future management and operation of the Vernal Regional Airport. The Uintah Transportation Special Service District drafted a letter to Uintah County and Vernal City last April requesting that they take back management and operation of the airport, stating that the request was “due to various conflicts that the district is facing such as budget constraints,” as well as citing the decline in mineral lease funding.
