Though we come from small towns and rural communities our heart for civic duty is just as giving as any state in the union. Daggett County has several openings on boards, committees and volunteer positions that they are asking residents to consider. There are five positions on the Board of Adjustments and three positions on the Museum Board and Volunteers.

TriCounty Health Department Continues Immunization Clinic
School is just around the corner for kids and the TriCounty Health Department is still holding their Back to School Immunization Clinic. Just as a reminder, those kids entering kindergarten or seventh grade have certain immunizations they will need and the health department nurses will be available to help with them.

Roosevelt City Primary Election Preliminary Results
Roosevelt City has posted the preliminary results for the Primary Election held on Tuesday. A total of 713 ballots were counted to determine the top six candidates for Roosevelt City Council that will be included on the ballot for the General Election on November 5th.
Man from Eagle Mountain Missing and Thought to be in Duchesne Area
A missing Eagle Mountain man may be in the Duchesne area. According to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, 19-year-old Eli “Merlin” Dutson spoke to his mother on August 8th and was last seen by friends as he was driving on Highway 40 near Strawberry Reservoir on August 9th. His family reached out to the Sheriff’s Office since they haven’t heard from him which is considered very unusual.
Additional Man Arrested in Duchesne County Home Robbery
Another suspect has been identified and charged in a May robbery during which a coin collection was taken from a Roosevelt residence. 26-year-old Tyjobe McCrone was already in jail in Southern Utah in an unrelated case when the warrant from Duchesne County caught up to McCrone on felony burglary charges.
Be the Light Recovery Benefit
Addiction is a very real part of each and every one of our lives. On August 17 at 5:00 pm and located at the Colton Pavillion in Vernal, there will be a benefit dinner held for Be the Light Recovery Center, an organization that seeks to help those struggling with addiction and, in turn, aid those recovered in saving other addicts.

The Uintah Basin has been enjoying the musical talents of Dante Zubel since his youth. He is perhaps best known for playing his cello for the Uintah Basin Orchestra and Chorus, Uintah High School, Uintah Basin Youth Chamber Orchestra, and beyond, though he plays many other instruments as well.
Uintah Basin Healthcare Celebrating Their 75th Anniversary
75 years. That is how long the hospital in Roosevelt has been providing healthcare services to the Uintah Basin. It has had a unique history in those 75 years. It started as the LDS Roosevelt Hospital in 1944 but when the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints “divested itself from its health care services” Duchesne County took over ownership in 1975 changing the name to Duchesne County Hospital.
