Altamont Students Place at FBLA Nationals

During the FBLA national’s closing ceremony in San Antonio, Texas, Altamont’s Ethan Abegglen and Braxton Hyde were named ninth place in graphic design. Over 13,000 students were in attendance from across the United States, even including select countries such as China and Hungary.

The Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office reports that they are investigating two new fraud cases involving callers that are running a new scam. The callers identify themselves as being part of either a government agency, such as the IRS, or as representatives of a legitimate company/business.

Roosevelt City Reports Vandalism of New Trees

Roosevelt City is very concerned with the way some members of the community have been treating the new trees that were planted around the walking path at Constitution Park. Of the 100 new trees, two of the saplings have already been snapped in half. The city reminds the public that it has taken the last two months for members of the Roosevelt Rotary Club and Strata Networks to get all those trees planted.

Rafting Fatality on Green River in Dinosaur National Monument

Dinosaur National Monument has confirmed that the body of a 47-year-old California man was recovered from the Green River within the Monument following a rafting accident in Triplet Falls. “The rafter was part of a group that included family and friends on a commercial rafting trip,” shares the news release.
