Lt. Governor Spencer Cox announced Monday that he and his wife Abby are embarking on a campaign adventure never before attempted by someone running for statewide office in Utah. Starting Monday morning, the pair set out on a roadtrip to visit all 248 Utah cities and towns as part of their campaign for governor. This week they are visiting 24 cities and towns in Summit, Wasatch, Duchesne, Uintah, and Daggett counties.

Rock Slide Closes Harpers Corner Road
A rock slide closed a road near Dinosaur National Monument on Monday. According to the Monument’s Chief of Visitor Services Dan Johnson, the rock slide happened in the Plug Hat Butte area, closing the Harpers Corner Road between the Monument headquarters near Dinosaur, Colorado and Moffat County Road 16.

Uintah Basin Junior Livestock Show This Week
The Uintah County Fair fun is kicking off with the Uintah Junior Livestock Show. Starting on Monday, June 3rd there will be a variety of livestock competitions. Kids from all over the Basin have been participating in the care and raising of hogs, goats, lambs, or cattle and now is the time to show the fruits of their labors.
Utah Division of Wildlife Resources Stocking Catfish in June
For those that like to fish community ponds and specifically like fishing for catfish, be sure to get out there in June. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources will be stocking channel catfish, 14 to 15 inches and weighing about a pound and a half each, throughout northern Utah. The first delivery will be on June 6th and then again on June 20th, delivering anywhere from 3,500 to 5,000 pounds.
Basin Bash Baseball Tournament This Weekend
The local spring baseball leagues are winding down but that does not mean an end to baseball games. The annual Basin Bash Baseball Tournament is happening this weekend and it looks like it will be a bases loaded event. There will be close to 60 baseball teams playing with almost 2500 people enjoying the games. Baseball enthusiast are sure to have a grand time but the Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce wants the local business community to have a ball as well.
Bureau of Reclamation Announces Water Releases on Green River; Use Caution
Starting on Monday June 3rd, Flaming Gorge Dam will be increasing its release flows, according to a press release from the Bureau of Reclamation. The higher flow rates are based on many factors including snowmelt projections, current reservoir and river conditions, recent storm activity, current weather forecasts, and inputs from various bureaus and organizations.
