The annual fundraiser for Rapha House held at the Western Park was a major success on Friday night. “We raised around $20,000!” shares one of the event coordinators, Katy Cundall. “We are very exhausted but even more thankful! We had more people there than any other year and a lot of new people who haven’t been before.

Accident Temporarily Closes Access to Josie’s Cabin on Wednesday
Access to Josie’s Cabin was temporarily closed on Wednesday morning after a single vehicle accident. Dinosaur National Monument informed the public of the closure and announced that the accident had been cleared and Cub Creek Road was reopened at 12:10pm. An image of the vehicle shared by Dinosaur National Monument showed the vehicle on its side on the shoulder of the road.

*Midnight Tonight* Rocky Mountain Power Planned Outage for Uintah County
Rocky Mountain Power has spread the word and urged Uintah County residents and businesses to be prepared. A planned outage is taking place tonight from midnight until 5:00am in order to complete a necessary replacement of a three pole transmission structure that was vandalized by gun fire. The outage will affect all Rocky Mountain Power customers within Vernal, Naples, and the surrounding Uintah County area.
Ladies Night Out Hosting ‘Celebration Of Freedom’ Rapha House Fundraiser
In what has become an annual tradition for a great cause, the annual Ladies Night Out is this Friday at Western Park. The theme, a ‘Celebration of Freedom’, is especially fitting as the funds raised benefit the Rapha House, an organization with safe houses in Cambodia, Thailand, and Haiti for girls who have been victims of sex trafficking.

Ted Munford recently made headlines after donating his out-of-this-world handmade Halloween costume collection to the Uintah County Library but did you know that his talented sister just finished up a large mural painting at a popular local hangout? Carrie Munford has been the creative mind behind much of the amazing artwork and displays at the Uintah Rec Center for years.
TriCounty Health Director Jordan Mathis Presents on Utah Medical Cannabis
Director of TriCounty Health Jordan Mathis presented and answered questions at the Vernal Chamber luncheon on Tuesday concerning the Utah Medical Cannabis Act that was passed in December 2018. The passing of HB 3001 gives the state until March 1st, 2020 to have most elements of the program operational, including a system in place for the issuance of medical cannabis patient cards and the licensing of medical cannabis pharmacies.
No Injuries in School Bus Crash in Uintah County
There were no injuries reported in a crash involving a Uintah School District bus on Wednesday morning in Vernal. According to the Uintah School District, the crash occurred on Wednesday, May 8th, at about 7:50am when bus number 58 stopped to pick up students near 250 South Vernal Avenue and was struck from behind by the driver of a pickup truck. “The bus driver had activated the bus’ yellow flashers, set the emergency brake and was preparing to open the door for students to board when the crash happened,” shares the District.

The revision team has completed the preliminary draft and will be starting the process called Scoping. This process allows the public to give reactions and inputs to the plan.

The play centers on a prince seeking out meaning in his life, exploring themes from glory in battle to solace in religion.
