Semi Overturns on Highway 40 in Accident with Passenger Car

Thankfully injuries were minor in an accident that took place between Naples and Jensen involving a semi and passenger car on Sunday evening. According to Utah Highway Patrol, the crash took place at about 5:05pm on Highway 40 at MM 155. A passenger car was making a turn off of Highway 40 when a westbound semi truck and trailer struck the corner of the car.

Dr. Seth Lyman of the USU Bingham Research Center reports that the inversion over the Uintah Basin finally broke up and mixed out on Saturday, ending last week’s ozone episode. It was a night of much deserved recognition at the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office annual awards banquet held on Wednesday night at the Centennial Events Center. Lt. John Crowley gave the keynote address and Sheriff Travis Tucker handed out the awards to deputies, staff, volunteers, and community partners. Corrections Sgt. Bryant Cook earned the Correctional Officer of the Year Award.
