One person is dead and two more are in critical condition after a two vehicle accident on Highway 40 at MM 50 on Tuesday morning. According to Utah Highway Patrol PIO Sgt. Nick Street, a red pickup truck hauling a trailer was traveling eastbound past Strawberry Reservoir when it hit ice on the roadway and lost control.

Charges of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor against a Duchesne County School District employee have been dropped. Charges were filed last year on May 4th against 49-year-old Darin Ace Thomas including two 1st Degree Felony charges of Criminal Conspiracy, two 3rd Degree Felony charges of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, one 3rd Degree Felony charge of Criminal Conspiracy, and one Misdemeanor charge of Sexual Solicitation.

A viewing for family and friends will be held Thursday evening from 6-8PM at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home (410 North 800 West) and Friday 9:45-10:45AM at the Uintah Conference Center. Interment will be in the Dryfork Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 11.
